Aleksandra (Ola) Borek

 

 

 

Hi, my name is Ola and I¡¯m your Vice-President.

I come from Poland and I¡¯m an undergraduate sociology student.My position includes helping the President with anything, which she needs help with as well as acting on the behalf of the President in her absence.

I also help all the other committee members when they need help and make sure that all the activities are well coordinated.I am particularly interested in and would like to work at communication and co-operation between OSA and other bodies of the University, like YUSU, GSA, college representatives, International Students Support Office, societies and so on.

If you have any ideas or suggestions how we could improve what we do, develop our activities or work together, I definitely need to hear from you!

 

Shirin Ong-Vanessa Lim

 

Vanessa Lim and Shirin Ong are 2nd-years from Singapore who study English Lit & History and English Lit & Politics respectively. Put together, they speak English, Mandarin, some Spanish and very poor Russian.

As Internal Activities Officers, Vann and Shirin are basically the social secretaries of the OSA; they organise and run socials and events that are held on campus or within York, as well as assist the OSA committee with general planning and administrative duties :)

I am the Ordinary Member representing Oceania (Australasia, Melanesia, Micronesia, Polynesia).

 

Olanrewaju Olaoye

 

 

 

I am African Representative at the Overseas Students' Association. My responsibilities include interfacing with prospects from Africa wanting to pursue academic degree here in the University of York, I am also responsible for informing various African societies about the activities of the OSA to ensure that they are well informed and represented, and in conclusion, I am responsible to the OSA committee to ensure we deliver exceptional programmes to international students' for them to have a real experience here at the University of York.
