Well everyone, it's the end of another academic term so it's time for us to
say goodbye for a couple weeks. Just as a reminder, there will be voting on
some OSA constitutional changes in Week 2 next term but more details will
follow in the Week 1 email. We hope everyone enjoys the break and we will
see you all again in April!

CORRECTION: It was stated in the last email that Malaysia took third place in the International Week football tournament. This was incorrect and it was in fact China which took the third place spot. My apologies and the Chinese team can come to the OSA/GSA Reception any day during office hours to collect their prize. Congrats!

UPCOMING EVENTS AND REMINDERS

-----Lake District Trip-----

• We have organized a trip to the Lake District over the break for anyone who is staying in York and would like a little break. The trip takes place from 30 March until 1 April (three days and two nights).

• Tickets cost ￡52 for members and ￡62 for non-members and include coach travel to the Lake District as well as accommodation in the Ambleside Backpackers' Hostel (http://www.englishlakesbackpackers.co.uk/).

• Tickets will be sold Tuesday, Week 10 in the OSA/GSA Reception from 10:00-12:00. There is a limit of only two tickets per person and members should bring their OSA membership cards with them. Space is limited so get there early to make sure you get a ticket.

-----York Carnival: In Need of Performers and Artists-----

• This year's York Carnival is in need of performers (possibly people from Cultural Performance night especially?) and artists to take part in the festivities. This will take place in May and the theme is Around the World.

• It's a great chance to show your culture so please consider participating if you are available. If you would like more details about the York Carnival please visit www.yorkcarnival.org. I have attached the interested form to this email and if you indeed want to take part, email the illed-out interested form to events@yorkcarnival.org.

• These forms must be sent in AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if you wish to have a chance at participating. (form download..)

-----Constitution Changes-----

• Every once in a while it is time to go back and update the OSA's constitution and it is indeed that time again. A new draft of the constitution is being created and of course this is important to all members of the society.

• Once the new draft is finished it will be included in an email to all members along with a copy of the current constitution for everyone to check out. A voting process will take place early next term in order to ratify this new constitution.

• Trip to Durham:
• We will be hosting a trip to Durham this coming Saturday, 8 March. Tickets cost 4 pounds for OSA members and 6 pounds for non-members and can be purchased this Tuesday, 4 March in the Wentworth lobby from 12pm-2pm.Tickets will also be sold in the OSA/GSA Reception on Wednesday during office hours if any remain following Tuesday's sale.

• Trip to the Lake District:
• We will also be holding a trip to the Lake District over the holiday so keep your calendars open for that. Details coming next week.

• Coffee Afternoon:
• Our weekly coffee afternoon will take place as usual in the Edge on Wednesday from 2pm-3pm. We will provide vouchers for free drinks for anyone who wishes to attend so there's nothing to lose!
